…doesn’t make him look weak or harm him.
Get a grip, my friends, get a grip, I’m here for you…
One of the many great things about the WW is that the superstars interact with their fans on a much greater scale than any other sport. Rey Mysterio, for example, has one of my favorite entrances, just based on how he approaches all of the kids he sees who are cheering for him.
At a SmackDown house show in early 2010, Rey was about to come out to wrestle Batista. I had a seat at the end of the aisle, so I looked around and spotted two kids a little ways away from me who were both wearing Rey masks. I got their dad’s attention and called them over, so they ran over and jumped up on the barricade, waiting for Rey to come over and acknowledge them. When Rey saw them, he opened his arms, walked over, and hugged them.
At this point, I always wonder what Rey said to the kids in his entrance. The music was loud, but I heard him say “You can do anything. Thank you!” It made me smile so huge and I got so stoked, seeing him hug those two kids and make their day, that I reached out and touched the back of his mask, so to say “You’re fucking rad!” In hindsight, that might’ve been a little creepy…
There’s something more important.

RIP little otters, there was nothing you could do.
